The first of the big games of the season took place on Saturday afternoon with Liverpool and Manchester United going head to head in front of the Sky TV live cameras at Anfield. With Liverpool having their big two players in Torres and Gerrard coming back from injury on the bench Liverpool looked very lightweight and when Argentinean striker Carlos Tevez put Manchester United ahead after only a couple of minutes it looked like Manchester United’s five games without losing over their rivals was going to be extended but how wrong could I have been, Liverpool stepped up a gear and caused Wes Brown to score a very unlucky own goal to gift Liverpool an equaliser then Dutchman Ryan Babel scored the winner to send Anfield alight and genuinely put Liverpool in the title challenge.
