www.williamhill.com – After not winning the league for 20 years you feel that Liverpool is doing everything possible to make sure that long wait without winning the League will go on for a few more years yet after once again dropping points in their own backyard.
Before a ball was kicked on Saturday I feel nearly every Football fan in the country (even Hull city fans) would have believed that Liverpool would gain all three points in their home game with Hull but after the away side raced into an early two goal lead it looked far from it, Captain Stephen Gerrard was once again the hero on Merseyside after scoring two goals and should have had more in their 2-2 home draw which leaves them still only one point ahead at the top of the pile.Chelsea in 2nd also had what looked like a home banker against West Ham but like Liverpool they had to come from behind and had Nicolas Anelka once again to thank in their 1-1 draw. Manchester United travelled to inform Tottenham desperate for a win to hopefully catch up with the leaders but was left frustrated with chances going astray at both ends in their boring 0-0 draw in North London.
Arsenal completed an unlikely four timer after drawing at Middlesbrough, Adebayor giving the Gunners the lead only for old boy Alliadiere to haunt his old employers and get the deserved equaliser in the 1-1 draw at the Riverside.
Aston villa were the only side in the top 5 to win after they beat manager of the month Gary Megson’s Bolton 4-2 at home lifting them up to 4th place in the league.The two sides at the bottom both looked like sure bets to go down after they both had miserable afternoons, West Brom were thumped 4-0 away at Sunderland and Blackburn were hammered 3-0 away at Wigan.
