Lasseters.com was a result of a merger of two well known online gaming portals, Gocorp Ltd and Lasseters Casino Pty Ltd. It is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange and prides itself as the first regulated (and licensed) operator.
To cater to different tastes and preferences, lasserts.com has three online casinos, which offers a variety of games including Baccarat, Blackjack, Video poker and even scratchies. Lasseters is a leader on online gaming and has maintained a strong market position for a long time (9 years) until recently.
Sadly, the heydays of Lasseters.com seem to have taken a hit due to the recent prolonged crisis. Perhaps it is due to the shrinking credit market that has prevented Lasseters.com to meet its payment obligations to successful punters, or simply its own investments gone wrong. It’s official explanation on the website given are that operations have ceased due to inability to complete and retain market share price since the closure of the US market in October 2006.
In any case, as of 9 September 2008, the shares of the company have ceased trading, and in effect, the website has also stopped taking bets at the decision of Lasseters.com board of directors. Fortunately, this doesn’t mean that punters with money in their accounts are affected. Gamers with credit in their accounts are still able to take out their money.
In its latest AGM results release, other than re-nominating their director, no news have been heard of opening up the site for punters to use again.
