www.bewin.com – Tennis, how people think this is a boring sport I will never know, it’s absolutely tremendous to watch and is always thrilling, and not many sports can chop and change so quickly to change the outcome of a match. Unlike a lot of sports, the tennis season actually runs all year round with there being four major tournaments throughout the year all played on different surfaces.
As I type this we’re actually smack bang in the middle of the Australian Open and is held in Melbourne, which is one of the big four and is played on a hard (plexicushion) court. Then we have the US Open which is held in New York City and is also played on a hard court but it is Decoturf. Next up we have the French open, held in Paris and is played on a clay court. Then finally we have the big one, the one every professional player wants to win, Wimbledon, held in London and played on a grass court. All the major tournaments last for two weeks and players who go all the way are playing a competitive match on average every other day which must take so much stamina it’s unreal, can you name one other sport where it is played competitively so regularly? The most popular combination in tennis is the singles, men v men and men v women, but there are also the doubles game and the mixed doubles game, mixed doubles is where you will have a man and a woman on the same team. For doubles matches this is there the tram lines on the court class as an extension to the court to give the players more chance of playing a better game with a bigger court to aim at.
