The old format of the English football divisions were simply called Division 1, Division 2, Division 3 and Division 4. Whether the FA wanted to just change things or wanted to market it differently to appeal to more people I don’t know but for the 1992/1993 season would be the first season the top flight in English football would be known as The Premier League (The Premiership as it’s also known).
The Premier League has continued to grow and grow across the world with it’s millions of followers and in the 17 seasons it has been going for we have seen only four different winners, Manchester United, Blackburn Rovers, Arsenal and Chelsea, Manchester United being the most successful of the four winning the title no less than ten times, and look on course to win it again this season. Before the season starts the FA randomly do a fixture list to run from the start of the season in August, through to the end of the season in May, every team then plays each other twice throughout the season, once at home, and once away, the obviously the team with the most points at the end wins the league. The team is made up 20 teams from up and down England and those teams change every season, this is because the teams who finish in the bottom three at the end of the season are relegated to the league below with three teams going the opposite direction and joining some of Europe’s elite in the Premiership. www.williamihll.com

Bet365.uk – The UEFA Champions league, a competition that is known as the greatest cup competition contested from league clubs. It is made up of teams from all across Europe’s top leagues (And some not so good) and gives the opportunity for some of the world’s top teams to play each other.
The current name/format were not introduced to the competition until 1992, despite originally running from 1955 under the name of The European Cup. At the start of the season the valid teams are given a seed and are automatically put into the main draw, but other teams have to go through a qualifying period to see if they will also be in the competition. Once all teams are in the main draw they are drawn into 8 groups of 4 teams where they will play each other twice, both home and away and then the top two teams from every group go through to the last 16.
These teams are then drawn into 8 fixtures where they will again play both home and away with the overall winners of each tie progressing through to the ¼ finals, the same procedure then continues right through to the final where there will only be one match and will be played a neutral venue at one of Europe’s top football stadiums. 21 different teams have won the competition since its launch in 1955 and 12 of those teams have won it on more than one occasion, Real Madrid being the most successful team winning the prestigious trophy no less than 9 times!. www.paddypower.ie – After the demise of Aguri Honda last year the signs were set in place that the once great sport of Formula 1 Motor racing was in trouble, and now that doubt has now been set in stone after Honda pulled out of this year’s championship and now with the news that both Toyota and Renault are really struggling is this the beginning of the end of a sport that has been around for decades.
With so many new rules being implemented this season a lot of teams have found it very hard to adjust their cars to come into line with the new rules and when you consider so many of the teams are controlled from the UK (who is at the start of an economical melt down) it is very hard to see the sport being able to carry on in the next five to ten years.
It is not just the teams that have had to dig deep though because the governing body the FIA have upped the driving super license fee that drivers have to renew yearly and in Lewis Hamilton’s case it could cost in the region of 200,000 GBP according to various sources. With this hike in the price this year many drivers have threatened to boycott races this year in protest so if something is not agreed very soon between the authorities in charge and the drivers I can see this season’s championship becoming a farce due to the fact teams have already dropped out and the drivers are not happy with what they are being charged.

Then we have the US Open which is held in New York City and is also played on a hard court but it is Decoturf. Next up we have the French open, held in Paris and is played on a clay court. Then finally we have the big one, the one every professional player wants to win, Wimbledon, held in London and played on a grass court. All the major tournaments last for two weeks and players who go all the way are playing a competitive match on average every other day which must take so much stamina it’s unreal, can you name one other sport where it is played competitively so regularly? The most popular combination in tennis is the singles, men v men and men v women, but there are also the doubles game and the mixed doubles game, mixed doubles is where you will have a man and a woman on the same team. For doubles matches this is there the tram lines on the court class as an extension to the court to give the players more chance of playing a better game with a bigger court to aim at.

It is of no secret that the opening goal is of relative importance as it does have a sounding impact on the way the entire team plays. This statement appears to hold true as Fulham went along to take on their second goal in the penalty kick out by Danny Murphy. Dempsey put in the third goal at the second half of the game and by this time, it burst all hopes of Middlesbrough for a successful comeback.
Fulham knows how tight the positioning of this Premier League is, and their goal for the match was to try to achieve as many points as possible. It is getting extremely trying to keep their position as a single mark lost could result in them sinking to the bottom of the Premier League chart.
Gareth Southgate felt that the penalty give-away wasn’t all that necessary, but still choose to take it as it is for contending with the referee’s decision won’t change anything. Although Middlesbrough showed good potential by drawing the match with Arsenal, it still wasn’t enough for the team did not seem to be consistent in the way they played.For Football betting click the link

www.totessport.co.uk – Chelsea would have definitely felt the pressure to perform for this match not only for the sake of winning, but more of usurping Liverpool for this entire Premier League game. It was a good opportunity to gain a one point advantage to top the Premier League games. However, the game with West Ham resulted in a draw leaving many supporters disappointed.
It appears that even though the match was played at Stamford Bridge, it was absolutely of no advantage to Chelsea, and a tinge of the group’s lack of cohesiveness was displayed during the game.
There were many missed opportunities as seen from Carlton Cole who came extremely close to sealing the game to gain a winning edge over West Ham. Michael Ballack also attempted at the opposition’s goal post, but Joe Cole failed to follow through with the persistent of Parker.
The game at some point of time turned heated when Frank Lampard was denied a penalty as he claimed that he was tripped by Neil. Also, Chelsea claimed that Noble had only achieved a goal as he had used his arm. This left Michael Ballack extremely furious causing an up stir with the referee, and was booked as a result of it.
All in all, Chelsea lost the golden opportunity and this entire Premier League is thrown into the air as to who the clear winner will be.

Tiger Woods was named after his father who fought in Vietnam was saved from certain death by a local Vietnamese worker who 1st name was Tiger. He then vowed to call his 1st son after the person and what a son he has turned out to be.
As well as winning everything in the game of Golf Tiger still has a bit of unfinished business with a few records still to be broken. Woods has also held the number one ranked position in the world for the most consecutive weeks and for the greatest total number of weeks and to be honest I don’t envisage anyone very getting close to. Currently still the World No. 1 player in the World even though he has been injured for months he was the highest-paid professional athlete in 2007 largely due to his massive contract by Nike, having earned an estimated $122 million from winnings and endorsements you would think he would slow down but not tiger, he still plays with the same determination that got him here in the 1st place and with him being only 33 I can see him being around for a good few years yet when you consider some of the ages of the guys on the current PGA tour.
One thing is for sure though and that is the other players better have upped their game while Tiger has been away because he is sure to be very hungry for more silverware and records and that can only be bad news for his rivals.

A 10th-minute goal from Xabi Alonso was enough to end the Blues’ 86-match league run without defeat at their Stamford Bridge home.
The victory kept Liverpool three points ahead of Chelsea atop the table.
The record 18-time champions are the division’s only undefeated team and have 23 points from nine games. Newly promoted Hull are third, also with 20 points.
It is the first time since joining Liverpool in June 2004 that Benitez has won at Arsenal, Manchester United or Chelsea – the only teams to have won the league since 1996.
It is six years since the Reds were leaders at this stage of the season when, after an impressive start, they slumped to finish fifth under Gerard Houllier.
The upcoming match against Portsmouth should see the return of striker Peter Crouch. The towering forward, in good form since joining Pompey, will be determined to show the crowd what they have been missing.
However, Liverpool have been a tough nut to crack at Anfield this season, and will be hoping to continue that with a repeat of the 4-1 scoreline that saw them pick up the three points in the same fixture last season.
What is different this time around is that Tony Adams and Joe Jordan are likely to take charge of Portsmouth after Harry Redknapp’s surprise move to Tottenham over the weekend.
