Robbie McKewen and Baiden Cooke will ride side by side at HiSense Arena for the men’s Madison event at this year’s Revolution 4 Indoor Track Cycling extravaganza.
It’s not the first time the pair have ridden sided by side.
In 2003 Cooke edged out McKewen by just millimetres on the Champs Elysees after the two literally raced shoulder to shoulder in a grandstand finish to the overall green sprinters jersey.
The two (along with Stuart O’Grady and Cadel Evans) are the faces of Australian Cycling overseas and Mckewen has tasted plenty of success in Europe’s toughest two races.
Not only has he worn the green jersey numerous times he has also enjoyed 12 stage wins in the Tour de France and 13 stage wins in the Giro d Italia.
Organisers of Revolution 4 are expecting a sell out crowd to watch the Madison, which is one of the most entertaining races on the cycling card.
Cyclist fly around the track at speeds of over 50km an hour, grabbing the arm of their team mate and ‘slingshotting him’ in a bid to gain maximum speed.
Both Cooke (who was previously a Madison specialist) and McKewen are expecting fierce competition in tonight’s main event.
They are up against dual Olympic gold medalist Graeme Brown who is renowned for being one of the toughest and hardest competitors in the world.
There are also a host of young guns all ready to knock the two international superstars off their perch in what should be a blockbuster event.

Following two weeks of criticism and scrutiny for abusing match referee Ashley Klein in the aftermath of the Kangaroos loss, Stuart was fined $20, 000 by World Cup organizers though the decision to effectively quit as coach was his own.

However it does heighten speculation that his position was already in jeopardy ahead of the Australian Rugby League Board meeting tomorrow in which the incident (and Stuarts’s immediate future as the national coach) was on the agenda.
It may be seen a s a pre-emptive strike by Stuart who accepted the fine and the criticism with unusually good grace – the first person to admit he’d made a pretty big mistake.
The World Cup organizers who handed down the hefty fine also took into account Stuart’s contribution to the international Rugby League scene from his debut as a player in 1986 right up until this unfortunate interest.
Stuart has made a habit of voicing his strong opinions, particularly in the latter half of this year his comments depicting Melbourne Storm players as a protected species incensed New South Wales and Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy to the point to the point where he too was fined for the comments he made in retaliation.
Although Bellamy has his hands full rebuilding a side that has won just one of it’s three consecutive grand final appearances, he will be a hot favourite to take over the top job next year.

In any case, alleging racism is indeed one of the most serious accusations that anyone can make, and given the serious stance that FA takes towards such allegations, most clubs are careful not to walk that path at all. Many clubs have zero tolerance for racism and appear to work hard to focus on skill and not colour.
The Red Devils are naturally not too pleased about the decision, and has hinted that they may appeal against the FA decision. It does appear that the ban was excessive and biased towards Chelsea.
What this means for both Bethell and Manchester United is that he will miss two Premier Leauge fixtures on December 26 and December 29 at Stoke and Middlesbrough, the third round of the FA Cup at Southhampton on January 4 and the first leg of United’s league Cup’s semi finals.
Until Manchester United makes an appeal against FA’s decision, Bethell will be having a long break for the Christmas and New Year.

Australian Soccer has undergone somewhat of resurgence since the introduction of the A-League last year and to many the prospect of hosting the biggest sporting event in the world is a very tasty one indeed.

www.willhill.co.uk - Perhaps Harrison Frazar may finally have his dream come true after finishing the week by leading the 28 players who earned their cards for the next season. He closed with a score of 5 under 67 at the PGA Tour qualifying tournament which is ahead of the other players.
Although hugely experienced, we are talking about 300 times on the PGA tour, he has not won before. Regardless, he gave a superb show and build up a huge lead that even with a double bogey on the final hole, he was still ahead by eight shots at the Nicklaus Tournament course at PGA West.
Another notable player was Notah Begay, who is a four time PGA Tour winner, was only one of the two that qualified for the TPC Stadium course in the final round. Begay barely made it, and even with three straight birdies for a 67, he only made it by one shot.
The other one that survived was Wil Collins who made it to the final stage for his very first time, out of the seven attempts before. No short of finesse, he had a difficult shot with 217 yards to go with mud on his ball. His par butt made it just enough to catch the side of the hole and curl in, giving him the passport to move on.
Another new comer who made it to the tour is James Oh, who made it with only two shots to spare.
Regardless, the upcoming tour will be an interesting one to watch out for, and with many new comers making it, it will be interesting to say the least if anyone of them could upset the more seasoned players.

Manchester United travelled to inform Tottenham desperate for a win to hopefully catch up with the leaders but was left frustrated with chances going astray at both ends in their boring 0-0 draw in North London.
Arsenal completed an unlikely four timer after drawing at Middlesbrough, Adebayor giving the Gunners the lead only for old boy Alliadiere to haunt his old employers and get the deserved equaliser in the 1-1 draw at the Riverside.
Aston villa were the only side in the top 5 to win after they beat manager of the month Gary Megson’s Bolton 4-2 at home lifting them up to 4th place in the league.The two sides at the bottom both looked like sure bets to go down after they both had miserable afternoons, West Brom were thumped 4-0 away at Sunderland and Blackburn were hammered 3-0 away at Wigan.

From the start Hattan looked to have surprised his opponent with his fast style which Malignaggi struggled to cope with and found it hard to hit Hattan back with anything worth noting. By the 5th round Hattan looked in total control and began to put on a show for the thousands that had travelled over the Atlantic Ocean to see their hero in action. In the later rounds Hattan really looked like he was enjoying things and started hitting his opponent with crisp but hard combinations that had Malignaggi stumbling around the ring but he avoided the canvas which saved an early stoppage.
By the 11th round Malignaggi had clearly had enough and was failing to offer anything back to the relentless Hattan and the ref called time on the fight through a TKO which left Hattan dreaming of a massive fight next year which could well be his last and I hope it is in a British ring so all his fans can say goodbye properly.
Hatton now looks like he will leave the light-welterweight division in search of a megabucks showdown with Oscar de la Hoya, assuming the Golden Boy beats Manny Pacquiao on December 6, De LA Hoya v Hattan would be one dream send off for everyone.
